The Better of Two Bads

September 7, 2007 / by iconodulist

1. turn in a family to child services and hope that they can help.

2. continue watching a father verbally and emotionally abuse his partner and their 4 (soon to be 5) kids.

It seems obvious, but when you become invested in the situation you see how potentially awful both could be. Which one would you choose?

(in case you didn't figure it out, I chose 1)

Judging by the stupidity of child services, I would never opt for that. If there is a crime, call the police. Otherwise, it really isn't any of your business and you could be terribly wrong. Political correctness has turned a nation into non-parents and everyone who doesn't train their own children to obey the laws, then becomes a burden on society in the judicial system and then of course the jails... There is no freedom with the rule of law (although few laws).

I'm not for abuse, hence, the idea, call the police.

Unless there's physical violence and force is needed, the police just call child welfare. It was better for me and my coworker to talk to the intake worker ourselves as firsthand witnesses than to get more red-tape involved. And when you talk about training kids, these kids are so good, that theory doesn't really apply here.

When the Police is called, they in turn call Child Protective Sevices..
Have you known these folks from the beginning of the marriage and children?
Speaking for bibletalk, When ever I have the opportunity to help right any wrong, I pounce on it. It is the least I can do, because if I were being mistreated or abused, my hope is that someone would step to the plate and do what's right....
If I had a friend who did 10 things in a day, of which, one of them was wrong, I would be a friend, and tell he/she about the one wrong and not spend time complimenting them on the nine right. Or I would caution he/she only to do nine (9) things a day, under the circumstances.
Note: most lesson in life are taught by our enemies, because our friends are too busy shaping the truth, trying not to hurt our feelings, that the truth is the last thing you will here from them. Be a friend, keep it real, "Speak Out & Tell The Truth, always...[HEART][SMILE]

Thanks for your support and truth is always important, if and only if it regarded with love.

the police do need evidence to press charges. Criminals still need to be proven guilty. Child servcies was the way to go

Telling the Truth is a bi-product of LoVe! Caring for others is a bi-product of LoVe! Speaking out about injustice is a bi-product of LoVe!
    Definition:
LoVe: the consideration of others more than one's own person.
LoVe: An action of caring for others before Myself.
    Speaking for bibletalk, I care!

We take things too much in the flesh...ego, pride, self-esteem, being the best we can be, in terms of compitition.
On God's green earth, we are here only to compliment each and everyone.
